Event at Sandhills Area Land Trust (SALT)

Date: February 28, 2012 Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Description Come join us for a screening of the new movie Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time.  Aldo Leopold was one of the most influential conservationists ever and is considered the father of the modern day conservation movement.  The Sandhills Area Land Trust has been working for 20 years to protect and conserve natural areas to preserve endangered plant and animal species, protect drinking water sources, conserve working farms and create corridors for use by wildlife, and the military.  With some 11,500 acres under conservation SALT seeks to protect lands with cultural or historic significance and preserve naturalized areas for future generations to enjoy.  Currently, SALT protects over 14 miles of riparian buffer along Drowning Creek to provide permanent protection for the primary drinking water supply for southern Moore County.
