DESCRIPTION:John Hood\n\n"History is Always About the Future"\n\n \n\nJohn Hood helped establish the John Locke Foundation\, a North Carolina conservative think tank\, in 1990. He served as its president for two decades and then chaired its board of directors.  Hood currently serves as president of the John William Pope Foundation\, an influential Raleigh-based grant maker.\n\nSince 1986\, Hood has written a syndicated column on politics and public policy for North Carolina newspapers in some 50 communities. He is a frequent commentator for radio and television stations\, teaches at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy\, and serves on the faculty and as board chairman of the N.C. Institute of Political Leadership. The author of nine books\, Hood receives his undergraduate degree in journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill and his master's degree in liberal studies from UNC-Greensboro.

LOCATION:Unless otherwise noted\, all lectures begin at 7 p.m. in the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center on the Sandhills Community College campus. All lectures are free and open to the public.
