Adults are encouraged to participate in the Summer Reading Program, too. As the roots of the community, adults can demonstrate the importance of reading during the summer as Southern Pines continues in our effort to grow great readers! The Adult Summer Reading theme will be Groundbreaking Reads: Dig into the Past, and will focus on memoir. Adult readers can earn book bucks and redeem prizes in several ways: read at least three memoirs over the summer including the featured memoir, I Beat the Odds, by Michael Oher; write a review for a memoir you enjoyed; attend the memoir-writing workshop on Sunday, July 14 from 3-4pm; view one of the two movie screenings of movie based on Oher?s story in August. Beginning June 1st, pick up a list of memoirs at the library and start digging into the past!
