Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care Administrative Assistant

Summary of position:
The number one priority of this job is to support the Executive Director and help ensure the Coalition operates efficiently. This position demands a team player who reports directly to the Director. The job requires strict attention to details, a strong work ethic, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with board members, volunteers and the general public. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, be results oriented, able to establish and meet time schedules and show flexibility when unexpected changes occur. This position is scheduled for approximately 15 hours/week.


  • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Experience with email marketing software (ie, iContact, Constant Contact, Vertical Response)
  • Database management knowledge and experience
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well organized, thorough and detail oriented


  • Process donations and acknowledgements in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with development and management of marketing and advertising projects
  • Assist Director and appropriate Board Committees with planning and management of special events
  • Manage mass mailings and other correspondence
  • Provide regular updates to Covenant Churches and Advisory Council
  • Update and maintain donor mailing and electronic mail databases
  • Assist with direct mail marketing and follow up
  • Assist with newsletter scheduling, creation, and mailings
  • Support the Director in preparing materials for the Board of Directors, schedule and coordinate arrangements for meetings as requested
  • Update website and social media outlets regularly to communicate needs, appreciation, and events
  • Assist with departmental inventories and purchasing
  • Perform other duties as requested with a sense of humor and team spirit.
