Residential Human Trafficking Program
Position Type: Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week)
Schedule: Flexible; some evenings and/or weekends may be required
Compensation: $30.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Part-Time Residential Counselor provides trauma-informed, compassionate care to residents within
Rachel’s Refuge’s restorative residential program. As a faith-based Christian organization, Rachel’s Refuge
integrates Christ-centered values of hope, dignity, and healing into all services and interactions. This role
supports residents’ emotional, relational, and personal growth through group facilitation, individual
supportive counseling, service planning, and case management, while modeling healthy boundaries and
interpersonal skills within a structured, healing-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Counseling & Group Facilitation
• Facilitate weekly psychoeducational, life skills, and therapeutic groups using trauma-informed,
survivor-centered approaches.
• Provide individual supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and assistance with emotional
regulation.
• Support residents in developing coping skills, effective communication strategies, and healthy
relationship patterns.
Case Management & Resident Support
• Complete intake assessments, risk screenings, and individualized service plans in collaboration
with the Program Director.
• Coordinate and support resident access to medical, mental health, legal, and community-based
services.
• Assist residents with goal setting and monitor progress toward individualized treatment and
service plan objectives.
Documentation & Team Collaboration
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including case notes and progress
reports.
• Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Communicate resident needs, concerns, and updates clearly and professionally to the treatment
team.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
• Experience facilitating groups, classes, or psychoeducational programming.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and survivor-centered practices.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, empathy, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass all required background checks.
