About Us
The Carolina Horse Park Foundation (CHP) is a 315 acre nationally recognized, premiere equine competition venue located in Hoke County, NC. Founded in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-pro?t organization by equestrian enthusiasts, CHP is dedicated to the preservation of open space for equestrian and recreational purposes. Throughout the year, it runs approximately 28 weeks of equestrian events and 10 educational and nature events with visitors and competitors traveling primarily from the Southeast and Mid Atlantic. According to the American Horse Council, CHP’s economic impact to the region now exceeds $8,000,000 annually.
Specifically, CHP events include the Carolina International CCI & HT, the Sedgefield at the Park Hunter Jumper Series, the War Horse Event Series, combined driving events such as the Southern Pines CDE, the Timberland CT & HDT, and top-rated Dressage shows. Our educational programs include guided hikes, “Bird of Prey with Hawk Manor Falconry” and “Bats at Sunset.” Each year, over 20,000 people compete at (or attend) events hosted at CHP.
As CHP’s largest, most prestigious event, the Carolina International delivers an outstanding weekend of horse sport and entertainment for riders, owners, grooms, spectators, patrons and sponsors alike. The annual event draws eventers from around the world to compete in the highest-rated classes. Over 7,500 competitors and spectators will converge on CHP between March 24-27, 2022.
