Veterans Parade: Saturday, Nov 9th, 9:40am

You do not want to miss the 7th Annual Southern Pines Veterans Parade on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Pre-Parade Festivities start at 9:40am in downtown Southern Pines and the parade follows at 10am.

What can you expect?

For Pre-Parade Festivities, look up! Vintage military aircraft of The Bandit Flight Team fly over and the precision Skydiving Angels from The Children of Fallen Heroes drop in, literally.

Then, the Veterans Parade rumbles with excitement ... Hundreds of motorcycles open the parade. You'll see (and hear) marching bands, ROTC groups, active-duty soldiers, boy scouts, girl scouts, fire trucks, antique vehicles and of course ... American Veterans.  There are even a few surprises to delight kids of all ages.
Bring your kids, grandchildren, friends and neighbors to honor the men and women who have served in our US Armed Forces since WWII. The parade will proceed rain or shine. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram  for up to the minute updates on our Sixth Annual Veterans Parade!

If you know a veteran that would like to be in the parade, complete the Parade Application . Read the Veteran Invitation Letter, too. Questions? Email us at spdistinguishedveterans@gmail.com .

We would be privileged to honor our Gold Star and Blue Star families. You are invited to march in our parade or enjoy the parade from our designated VIP area across from the Sunrise Theater.
The Southern Pines Veterans Parade in the Sandhills is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All donations to this event are tax-deductible.

Southern Pines Veterans Parade

My Fellow Veteran,                                                                                                                 1 January 2019

On behalf of the Sandhills Veterans Festival and Southern Pines Parade committees, God Bless you.  We hope this letter finds you in high spirits and in great health.  We have been busy preparing for this year’s 2019 Sandhills Veterans Festival and the Southern Pines Veterans Parade.  As you know, this marks the seventh anniversary of this event.  As always our mission is to "Support Our Troops and Honor Our Veterans," because this event was established “For Veterans, By Veterans”.  Of course this means you, our Armed Services Veterans that served your country from WWII to today's current fight.  You are the reason we celebrate this day.  Your service, your sacrifice, your love and commitment to this great nation deserve more than we could ever attempt to re-pay you.  On 9 November at 10 a.m. we would really love to show you how thankful we are by honoring you in our little hometown parade, so we pray you will grace us with your presence.

As in years passed, the Southern Pines Masonic Lodge will be hosting the Pre-Parade Veterans Appreciation Breakfast, which will begin promptly at 8 am and run until 9 am.  This time and venue is for all of our veterans to break bread and reminisce about their experiences with one another.  It is also a time to share your stories with today’s generation of service men and women as every WWII and Korean War veteran will be assigned their own Ambassador for the duration of the event.  Promptly at 9 am we will begin to move our veterans from the Lodge to the Staging Area beginning at the corner of N.E. Broad St. and Vermont Ave.

This event would not or could not be possible without you, so thank you in advance for letting us honor you in our little hometown parade.

Please find and fill out the attached application for entry into the parade.  It can be emailed to spvpapplication@gmail.com, mailed to PO Box 1115, Southern Pines, NC 28374, or call us at 910-528-1822 or 910-528-2349 to coordinate application pick up.  For more information please visit us on the web at www.sandhillsveteransfestival.com.

       Very Respectfully,
