(SOUTHERN PINES, NC) – October 22, 2026 – Prancing Horse is excited to host its Helicopter Golf Ball Drop Fundraiser on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at 10:40am at the Mid South Club in Southern Pines. All proceeds benefit Prancing Horse, which provides therapeutic horsemanship programs for veterans, children and adults with a range of cognitive, emotional and physical needs who gain emotional health, social growth and physical strength gained through their connection with horses.

This promises to be a unique fundraiser that will have everyone looking up with anticipation, and winners enjoying some hefty prize money. Participants first purchase golf balls online at prancinghorsegolfballdrop2026. The price per ball is $20; three balls for $50; seven balls for $100 and 20 balls for $250. Buyers will be assigned a numbered ball for each for ball purchased.

On Veterans Day, participants will gather on a designated green at the Mid-South Club and watch a helicopter soar overhead carrying the hundreds of purchased golf balls. At precisely 10:40am, the helicopter door will open and the balls will reign down on the golf course. The ball that lands in the hole or closest to the pin is worth $3,000 in prize money; second closest is worth $1,500. Winners will be notified by email. Everyone is eligible, and participants need not be present at the event to win.
