Residential Human Trafficking Program Schedule: Part-time up to 20 hours per week (flexible hours; some evenings or weekends may be required) Pay: $30.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Part-Time Residential Counselor provides trauma-informed, compassionate support to residents within our restorative home. As a faith-based Christian program, Rachel’s Refuge incorporates Christ-centered principles of hope, dignity, and healing throughout all services and interactions. This role includes facilitating psychoeducational and therapeutic groups, offering one-on-one supportive counseling, assisting with service planning and case management, and modeling healthy interpersonal skills in a structured, healing-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Counseling & Group Facilitation
• Facilitate weekly psychoeducational, life skills, and therapeutic groups using trauma-informed, survivor-centered approaches.
• Provide individual supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and emotional regulation support.
• Assist residents in building coping skills, communication strategies, and healthy relationship practices.
Case Management
• Conduct intake assessments, risk screenings, and service planning in collaboration with the Program Director.
• Coordinate appointments for residents, including medical, mental health, legal, and community support services as needed.
• Support residents in goal setting and track progress on individualized service plans.
Documentation & Collaboration
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes and progress summaries.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings, case reviews, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Communicate resident concerns, updates, and needs to the team promptly and professionally.
Minimum Qualifications
• Commitment to supporting a Christian, faith-based healing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
• Experience supporting survivors of trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking.
• Experience facilitating groups or classes.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, crisis response, and survivor-centered practices.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in residential or shelter-based programs.
• Knowledge of addiction, mental health concerns, or co-occurring disorders.
• Experience or familiarity with eating disorders and/or disordered eating.
• Knowledge of trauma-focused modalities such as motivational interviewing, CBT skills, and strengths-based approaches.
